Day 2 - 2 Months Old!

Wow has time flown (as always)! Yesterday Amelia turned two months old and the poor dear started the day off with her first cold. Caden and I have had it all week long and I was hoping she wouldn't get it...but she did. Thankfully it seems mild and she is just "snuffly" and fussy. Yesterday was also her 2 month check up but I declined shots until she was feeling better. She was meant to get EIGHT vaccines!!! There is no way I feel comfortable with that. So she will get a some in two weeks and the others will be spaced out. Without further ado here are some 2 month pictures of the little beauty:

11 pounds, 10 oz, 23" long, 40cm head circumference. I thought she was heavier!

Rockin' the hair!

Awww, she's adorable! Just wondered what vaccines you get in the US? In the UK, they are due to have 2 shots at 8 weeks, one is for Diphtheria, Tetanus, whooping cough, polio, Haemophilus influenzae and the other is for Pneumococcal. They are split into two injections: DTaP/IPV/Hib and PCV. In the States do they do 8 separate injections? Ouch! Amber is due her second MMR and pre-school booster this week as well, so it's going to be a fun morning lol! I hate injections, I worry about the preservatives they use in them and the fact that they have to have so many so young, but then the diseases they are offering protection from are so awful I guess it's worth it...

Hope you all feel better soon!

Hi Sophie!
I know it's 8 diseases: DTap (Diptheria, Tetanus, Whooping cough), Hep B, Rotavirus, HIB, Pneumococcal & Polio. I thought it was 6 seperate shots but some of the last ones could be combined. This is the current schedule in the USA http://www.healthychildren.org/Documents/tips-tools/Immunization%20Schedules/IZSchedule_Childhood.pdf

Yeah it's kinda scary how much they give such a little baby! Caden had 27 vaccines by the time he was 9 months old!
I am following the Dr. Sears schedule right now, getting a couple every month instead of all at once. Oh wow getting them for older kids must be horrible! Caden is TERRIFIED of the doctors.
