The Strike is Over!

It's a miracle! It's a miracle! Right after writing the last post, God came through in a BIG way.
Caden is now exclusively nursing, no bottles in 24 hrs!!!

I mean how many babies switch after 3 months? It's amazing, I can't describe how happy I am. I have a new freedom and a closer bond with my child. There is less crying in our house...I don't have to wait for a bottle to heat up! No more pumping (except at night)! And no more washing and sterilizing bottles :)

Yesterday I was determined, and so was Caden....but after a whole day of whining on his part, he now latches on perfectly without a complaint, not even a peep. It's like the bottle never even happened.

Right now he is sitting next to me in his bouncer, smiling his sweet gummy grin up at me.

God is amazing.

that's great - but I do have a question.... what will others do to feed him if they are watching him for you????

Cassi I thought about that...not sure yet! Monday will be too soon for a bottle I think...he goes about 2 hours between meals. I think we will just go to dinner, with a bottle on stand by for emergencies!

I can't imagine how hard it has been for you, dealing with the desire to breastfeed and Caden not agreeing. I'm so glad you had this breakthrough. Blessings

Hattie, in regards to Cassi's question, God will come through in that area, too. Don't worry about it, even if he never takes a bottle again! After I got out of the hospital, Emily never took a bottle, sippy cup, pacifier, NOTHING until she was 14 months old. Not by my choice, either...LOL But Jason & I survived, and I never felt like we were robbed of date nights or anything. We couldn't do overnighters, but we made do with the few hours in between feedings. And it gets easier when they start solids because they drop down to 4 feedings a day and then 3 feedings, and then soon it will only be morning and night. <3 Right now, it's important to stay relaxed, because stress and anxiety will work against you. =)

I'm so happy. I wish I had a moment to read the blog earlier. I went through a similar thing with Penelope. I wish I knew, maybe I could have helped in some way. Penelope developed trush (from a very long story) and ended up having a lot of pain to nurse. So we switched to bottles, but the switch back was difficult to say the least. I still had to reintroduce the bottle to go back to work. Again if you have any questions let me know or if there is anything I can help with.

Praise God that everything worked out!
